Important travel update for the London Show

If you’re coming to the RISC OS London Show, which at the time of writing will take place in just six days, the organisers have posted an important update for people using public transport:

For those planning to travel by tube, note that the Bakerloo Line through Kenton station is closed on the day of the show. Trains from Watford And Euston to Kenton are still running.

Use the Metropolitan Line to Northwick Park station instead, it is only slightly further away. More info, maps, and walking directions from the station are on the show website.

For those heading to the event by car, other than contending with London traffic there have been no similarly important updates, and the venue itself has plenty of free parking.

As a reminder for anyone who hasn’t been paying attention, the show will be open to the public from 11:00am until 4:00pm on Saturday, 25th October, at:

Harrow District Masonic Centre,
Northwick Circle,
Kenton,
Harrow,
HA3 0EL.

The ticket price is £7, payable on entry by cash or card – and if paying by cash, it would be helpful to the RISC OS User Group of London (ROUGOL), who organises the event, if you could present the right change (alternatively, you still have time to practice saying “Keep the change,” which is also acceptable).

There are also a couple of other updates worth noting.

Firstly, since RISCOSitory published a preview a lifetime few weeks ago, the number of exhibitors listed on the show website has increased by an impressive 5%.

Okay, it had twenty listed at the time, so that’s just one more exhibitor – but 5% sounded better, okay?

Unfortunately, as the earlier RISCOSitory post didn’t list all the exhibitors, it’s hard to say who the newly added party is – but my eagle (yet sometimes bat-like) eyes are immediately drawn to the BBC Media Preservation exhibit.

So it probably isn’t that one.

Secondly, there are now a full six (count ’em) theatre talks listed on the show website. They’re shown in alphabetical order, which may or may not be the actual order on the day, and no times are given (though you can expect the first to start at 11:30am).

So if you’re partaking of a sit down to listen to someone talk about their latest RISC OS projects, you’ll be able to hear from Drag ‘n Drop, Orpheus Internet, R-Comp, RISC OS Developments, RISC OS Open Ltd, and Sine Nomine.

Other than hastily posting any announcements that hit the RISCOSitory inbox the bunker is now officially closed until a few days after the show, so all that is left to be said is:

See you there!
